Influence of Online Education on Diabetic Foot Protection Knowledge on Self-management Level and Quality of Life of Empty-nest Middle-aged and Elderly Diabetic Patients
Objective To explore the effect of online education on diabetic foot protection knowledge on self-management level and quality of life of middle-aged and elderly diabetic patients in empty-nest.Methods A total of 60 middle-aged and elderly diabetic patients admitted to Yongzhou Third People's Hospital from January 2021 to January 2022 were randomly selected as the study objects,and were randomly divided into two groups according to numerical table method,with 30 cases in each group.The regular group received the routine education,and the on-line group received the knowledge education of diabetic foot protection based on the online platform.The intervention lasted for 8 months.The changes of treatment compliance(out-of-hospital treatment compliance behavior question-naire for diabetic patients),self-management level[Diabetes Self-Management Activity Questionnaire(SDSCA)]and quality of life[Diabetes Quality of Life Specificity Scale(DSQL)]before and after intervention were compared be-tween the two groups.Results After intervention,the treatment compliance score and SDSCA score of the two groups were higher than before intervention,and the DSQL score was lower than before intervention,and the treatment com-pliance score and SDSCA score of the online group were higher than that of the conventional group,and the DSQL score was lower than that of the conventional group,the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).Conclusion The knowledge education of diabetic foot protection carried out on the online platform can improve the treatment compliance and self-management ability of middle-aged and elderly diabetic patients in empty nests,im-prove their quality of life.
