Objective To analyze the role of targeted emergency care in patients with diabetes mellitus(DM)and hy-poglycemic coma. Methods 76 cases of DM with hypoglycemic coma patients admitted to Fengxian People's Hospital from January 2020 to June 2023 were selected and divided into two groups by randomized numerical table method,38 patients received routine nursing care in the control group, and 38 patients received targeted emergency nursing care in the observation group. The blood glucose levels, recovery time, quality of life and satisfaction between the two groups were compared. Results After nursing, the fasting plasma glucose level of the observation group was lower than that of the control group, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The recovery time of the observation group was(70.26±10.14)min,which was shorter than that of the control group(81.55±9.23)min,the difference was statistically significant(t=5.076,P<0.05).The Diabetes-Specific Quality of Life Scale scores of the observation group were lower than those of the control group, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The total satisfaction rate of the observation group was 97.37%,which was higher than 78.95%of the control group, the difference was sta-tistically significant(χ2=4.537,P<0.05).Conclusion Providing targeted emergency care to patients with coma due to DM and hypoglycemia can shorten the patient's recovery time, improve blood glucose control and improve the pa-tient's quality of life, and gain recognition from patients.
