Objective To explore the effect of type 2 diabetes patients on improving their self-management level by applying the standardized metabolic management center(MMC)management model led by specialist nurses.Methods 60 patients with type 2 diabetes admitted to Taizhou Second People's Hospital from January to October 2023 were in-cluded in the study.The patients were divided into specialist group(n=30)and conventional group(n=30)using the odd-even grouping method.The routine group received general nursing care,while the specialist group received MMC management model led by specialist nurses.The self-management level and blood glucose control of the two groups were compared.Results The self-management levels of the specialist group in terms of diet,exercise,blood glucose monitoring,monitoring frequency,foot care,and medication scores were all higher than those of the conventional group,the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05)The blood glucose control of the specialist group was better than that of the conventional group,the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion The MMC management model based on the leadership of specialist nurses can improve the self-management level of pa-tients with type 2 diabetes and reduce blood glucose levels.
