Objective To explore the effect of type 2 diabetes patients on improving their self-management level by applying the standardized metabolic management center(MMC)management model led by specialist nurses. Methods 60 patients with type 2 diabetes admitted to Taizhou Second People's Hospital from January to October 2023 were in-cluded in the study. The patients were divided into specialist group(n=30)and conventional group(n=30)using the odd-even grouping method. The routine group received general nursing care, while the specialist group received MMC management model led by specialist nurses. The self-management level and blood glucose control of the two groups were compared. Results The self-management levels of the specialist group in terms of diet, exercise, blood glucose monitoring, monitoring frequency, foot care, and medication scores were all higher than those of the conventional group, the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05)The blood glucose control of the specialist group was better than that of the conventional group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion The MMC management model based on the leadership of specialist nurses can improve the self-management level of pa-tients with type 2 diabetes and reduce blood glucose levels.
