Objective To explore the effect of periodontal basic treatment combined with tinidazole capsule in improv-ing the gum index of diabetic periodontitis patients.Methods A total of 68 patients with diabetic periodontitis admit-ted to Dehua County Hospital from October 2022 to September 2023 were randomly selected as the study objects,and divided into control group and observation group with random number table method,with 34 cases in each group.The control group was treated with conventional periodontal basic treatment,and the observation group was treated with ti-nidazole capsule on the basis of periodontal basic treatment.The changes of serum inflammatory factors,gun index,plaque index and gingival sulcus bleeding index before and after treatment and the difference of clinical efficacy were compared between the two groups of pateints.Results There was no statistically significant difference in serum inflam-matory factor levels between the two groups of patients before treatment(P>0.05),and the tumor necrosis factor-a(TNF-α),interleukin-6(IL-6)and hypersensitive-C-reactive-protein(hs-CRP)levels of the two groups were de-creased after treatment,and the indexes of the observation group were lower than those of the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).Gun,plaque and gingival sulcus bleeding index were higher be-fore treatment and there was no statistically significant difference between the two groups(P>0.05).After treatment,the two groups improved significantly,and the improvement of the observation group was better than that of the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The total therapeutic effectiveness of the observation group was significantly higher than that of the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion In the treatment of diabetic periodontitis,the combination of periodontal basic treatment and tinidazole capsule can better control periodontal inflammation,improve patients'gum index,plaque index and bleeding index,so that the total effective rate of treatment is higher and the effect is excellent.
