Objective To observe and evaluate the effect of intravenous insulin in patients with severe diabetic keto-acidosis.Methods 64 patients with severe diabetic ketoacidosis admitted to Department of Critical Care Medicine of Changle County People's Hospital,Shandong Province from August 2020 to August 2023 were selected as the study objects and were divided into the control group by random number table method and the observation group with 32 cases in each group.During rescue treatment, insulin was injected by continuous intravenous drip and micro-injection pump respectively in the two groups. The blood glucose, related clinical indicators and satisfaction with treatment ef-fect were compared between the two groups. Results There was no statistically significant difference in random blood glucose before treatment and the time for blood glucose level to return to normal(both P>0.05).The random blood glu-cose levels of the observation group at 2,4,6 h after treatment were higher than those of the control group, and the random blood glucose level at 8 h after treatment was lower than that of the control group, the differences were statisti-cally significant(all P<0.05).The amount of insulin used to correct diabetic ketoacidosis(DKA)and number of pa-tients with hypoglycemia reaction was less than those of the control group, the time of blood ketone body turning nega-tive and the average length of hospital stay were shorter than those of the control group, the differences were statisti-cally significant(all P<0.05).Conclusion The application of micro-injection pump insulin infusion in the treatment of severe diabetic ketoacidosis has a high effect, which is conducive to promoting the steady decline of blood sugar,re-ducing hypoglycemia reaction and insulin dosage, and has high clinical value.
