Objective To evaluate the efficacy and safety of Danshaojiangtang capsule combined with metformin hy-drochloride tablets in the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM).Methods 80 patients with T2DM who were treated at Kaiping Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from May 2022 to May 2023 were randomly selected as the study objects.They were divided into two groups using random number table method,with 40 patients in each group.The control group was treated with metformin hydrochloride tablets,while the observation group was treated with Danshaojiangtang capsule prepared by the hospital on the basis of the control group.The treatment effects of two groups were compared,including blood glucose levels before and after treatment,total effective rate,and incidence of adverse reactions.Results After treatment,the levels of blood glucose indicators the observation group were better than those of the control group,the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).Compared with the control group,the observation group had a higher total effective rate of treatment,the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).There was no statistically significant difference in the total incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion On the basis of using metformin hydrochloride tablets,the combination of Danshaojiang-tang capsule can effectively improve the blood glucose control effect of patients with T2DM,optimize the treatment ef-fect,and have good safety.
