Objective To explore the role of health education strategies in the clinical care of diabetes mellitus.Methods A total of 80 patients with diabetes admitted to the Second Affiliated Hospital of the University of South China from October 2021 to October 2023 were selected as the study objects,and the patients were divided into two groups with 40 cases each by random lottery.The comparison group received routine nursing,and the study group re-ceived routine nursing + personalized health education.Blood glucose,self-management ability and nursing satisfac-tion were compared between the two groups.Results The glycosylated hemoglobin A1c(6.18±0.63)%,2 h postpran-dial blood glucose(8.53±1.17)mmol/L and fasting blood glucose(7.15±1.36)mmol/L in the study group were lower than those in the comparison group,and the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).The self-management ability score of the study group(67.98±5.67)points was higher than that of the comparison group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The total nursing satisfaction of the study group was 97.50%,which was signifi-cantly higher than that of the comparison group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion In the process of routine care of diabetes mellitus,joint care with personalized health education strategy can lead to the improvement of patients'self-management ability,which has a positive impact on controlling the rise of blood glucose.
