Effects of Behavioral Change Theory Nursing on Blood Glucose Indicators and Self-care Behavior of Patients with Diabetes Mellitus Combined with Tonsillitis
Objective To investigate the effects of the application of behavioral change theory nursing on blood glu-cose indexes and self-care behaviors in patients with diabetes mellitus combined with tonsillitis. Methods A total of 107 patients with diabetes mellitus complicated with tonsillitis admitted to the Department of Respiratory Medicine of Liaoyuan Central Hospital from March 2021 to February 2023 were selected as the research objects. They were di-vided into routine group(n=54,routine nursing intervention)and observation group(n=53,behavioral change theory nursing)by coin tossing method. The diabetes self-care behavior scale score, blood glucose level and diabetes-specific quality of life were compared between the two groups. Results After 90 d of intervention, compared with the conventional group, the observation group had a higher self-care behavior score(109.12±12.19)points,and the differ-ence was significantly significant(t=2.300,P<0.05).After 90d of intervention, blood glucose levels and quality of sur-vival scores were lower in the observation group compared to the conventional group, and the differences were signifi-cantly significant(all P<0.05).Conclusion In the care of patients with diabetes mellitus combined with tonsillitis, the application of behavioral change theory nursing is effective in improving patients'self-care behaviors, correcting blood glucose levels and improving patients'quality of survival.
