Effect of Acarbose Tablets and Clindamycin Combined Oral Intervention on Blood Glucose Levels in Patients with Periodontal Disease in Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus
Objective To investigate the effects of acarbose tablets and clindamycin combined oral intervention on blood glucose levels in patients with periodontal disease in type 2 diabetes mellitus. Methods 98 patients with peri-odontal disease in type 2 diabetes mellitus admitted to Quanzhou First Hospital,Fujian Province from March to No-vember 2023 were selected as the study objects, and were divided into the control group and the study group using the closed-envelope method, with 49 cases in each group. Both groups were given oral metformin hydrochloride tablets with oral intervention as the basic treatment, the control group combined clindamycin on the basis of the basic treat-ment and the study group combined acarbose tablets on the basis of the basic treatment. Before and after 2 months of the intervention, fasting plasma glucose(FPG),2 h postprandial blood glucose(2 hPG)levels and plaque index(PLI),gingival index(GI)and clinical attachment loss(CAL)levels were compared between the two groups. Results After 2 months of intervention,FPG in the study group was(5.46±0.27)mmol/L,and 2 hPG was(7.83±0.92)mmol/L,which were lower than those in the control group, the differences were statistically significant(t=3.466,9.654,both P<0.05).The levels of PLI,GI,CAL in the study group were all lower than those in the control group, the differences were sta-tistically significant(all P<0.05).Conclusion The implementation of acarbose tablets combined with oral intervention in patients with periodontal disease in type 2 diabetes mellitus can reduce the patients'blood glucose level and im-prove the periodontal indexes.
