Effectiveness of Epalrestat Combined with Methylcobalamin Acupoint In-jection in the Treatment of Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy and Its Effect on Nerve Conduction Function and Oxidative Stress Response of Patients
Objective To explore the effects of combined methylcobalamin acupoint injection therapy on nerve con-duction function and oxidative stress in patients with diabetic peripheral neuropathy on the basis of epalrestat.Methods A total of 84 patients with diabetes peripheral neuropathy admitted to Xuzhou Hospital of Traditional Chi-nese Medicine from May 2022 to May 2023 were selected as the research objects.They were divided into the control group(42 patients,treated with epalrestat)and the observation group(42 patients,treated with methylcobalamin com-bined with bilateral Zusanli acupoint injection on the basis of eparastat)by random number table method.The treat-ment effect,nerve conduction function,oxidative stress reaction before and after treatment and total incidence of ad-verse reactions of the two groups were compared.Results The total clinical effective rate of the observation group(97.62%)was higher than that of the control group(80.95%),and the difference was statistically significant(χ2=4.480,P<0.05).After treatment,the nerve conduction function of the observation group was higher than that of the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The level of superoxide dismutase in the observation group was higher than that in the control group,while the levels of reactive oxygen species and malondialdehyde were lower than those in the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).There was no sta-tistically significant difference in the total incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion For patients with diabetic peripheral neuropathy,the effect of epalrestat combined with methylcobalamin bilateral Zusanli acupoint injection is more significant,which can not only effectively improve their nerve conduction function,but also reduce their oxidative stress,and the safety is good.
