Objective To analyze the value of routine test and biochemical test in clinical diagnosis of diabetes. Methods A total of 500 patients with suspected diabetes who were admitted to Lanshan District Bancheng Central Hospital from February 2022 to February 2023 were selected for study. All patients underwent routine and biochemi-cal tests, with oral glucose tolerance test as the gold standard. The number of positive cases, the number of confirmed cases, the number of misdiagnosed cases and the number of missed cases were compared between routine test and bio-chemical test. The sensitivity, specificity, accuracy, positive predictive value and negative predictive value of routine test and biochemical test were compared. Results Among the 500 suspected diabetic patients,100 were eventually di-agnosed with diabetes.Routine examination diagnosed 96 positive cases,of which 94 were confirmed.Biochemical tests diagnosed 99 positive cases,of which 98 were confirmed. The misdiagnosis rate of biochemical test was lower than that of routine test, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The specificity, accuracy, positive predictive value and negative predictive value of biochemical test were higher than those of routine test, and the differ-ences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).Conclusion In the clinical diagnosis of diabetes, the diagnostic value of biochemical test is higher than that of routine test, which is more conducive to improving the detection rate of dis-ease and laying the foundation for clinical treatment.
