Objective To explore the therapeutic value of Liuwei Dihuang Pill assisted metformin in patients with type 2 diabetes.Methods A total of 90 patients with type 2 diabetes admitted to Dongyuan County Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine of Guangdong Province from April to September 2023 were selected as the research objects.They were divided into control group(45 cases,metformin treatment)and observation group(45 cases,Liuwei Dihuang Pill assisted metformin treatment)by random number table method.The blood glucose levels,traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)syndrome scores,therapeutic effects and adverse reactions of the two groups were compared.Results After treatment,the blood glucose levels and TCM syndrome scores of the two groups decreased,and those in the observa-tion group were lower than the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).The treat-ment effect of the observation group was better than that of the control group,and the difference was statistically sig-nificant(P<0.05).There was no statistically significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion Chinese medicine Liuwei Dihuang Pill with metformin can improve the total effec-tive rate of treatment of type 2 diabetes patients,improve blood sugar levels and TCM syndromes,safe and reliable.
