Effects of Combination of Empagliflozin Tablet and Gliclazide Sustained-release Tablet on Blood Glucose Indexes and Adverse Reactions in Patients with Type 2 Diabetes
Objective To investigate the effects of combined treatment of empagliflozin tablet and gliclazide sustained-release tablet on blood glucose indexes and adverse reactions in patients with type 2 diabetes. Methods A total of seventy patients with type 2 diabetes admitted to Xiamen Third Hospital from January to December 2023 were selected as the study objects and divided into two groups by random number table method, with thirty-five patients in each group. The control group was treated with empagliflozin tablets, and the observation group was treated with empa-gliflozin tablets combined with gliclazide sustained-release tablets. The clinical data of two groups were analyzed. Results The levels of fasting blood glucose,2 h postprandial blood glucose and glycosylated hemoglobin A1c in obser-vation group after treatment were lower than those in control group, the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).After treatment, the levels of low density lipoprotein cholesterol, total cholesterol and triacylglycerol in observa-tion group were lower than those in control group, and the level of high density lipoprotein cholesterol was higher than that of control group, the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).After treatment, fasting insulin and in-sulin resistance index in observation group were lower than those in control group, and islet β cell function index was higher than those in control group, the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).The total incidence of ad-verse reactions in two groups was compared, the difference was not statistically significant(P>0.05).Conclusion The combination of empagliflozin tablets and gliclazide sustained-release tablets can effectively control blood glucose and lipid levels in patients with type 2 diabetes, improve the function of pancreatic β cells, and do not significantly in-crease the adverse reactions.
