Clinical Efficacy of Diet Therapy Combined with Insulin in the Treatment of Elderly Patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus and the Prevention of Complications
Objective To analyze the clinical effect of dietary therapy combined with insulin in patients with type 2 diabetes. Methods Eighty-two cases of type 2 diabetes mellitus patients in Gaochun People's Hospital of Nanjing City were selected as research subjects from January 2021 to January 2024,and they were divided into two groups of 41 cases each by using the random number table method. The observation group was treated with dietary therapy coupled with insulin medication, and the control group was given insulin medication, and the two groups were com-pared in terms of their clinical efficacy, glycemic control effect, and the incidence of complications. Results The total effective rate of 97.56%and the complication rate of 4.87%in the observation group were better than the 85.36%and 19.51%in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(χ2=3.904,4.100,both P<0.05).After treatment, fasting plasma glucose(5.97±1.01)mmol/L and 2 hours postprandial plasma glucose(8.24±1.10)mmol/L in the observation group were lower than those in the control group(6.54±1.26)mmol/L,(8.93±1.32)mmol/L,and the dif-ferences were statistically significant(t=2.260,2.571,both P<0.05).Conclusion The effect of diet therapy combined with insulin therapy is remarkable.
