Objective To analyze the effect of dapagliflozin in the treatment of patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus and heart failure and its effects on islet function and cardiac function.Methods A total of 98 patients with type 2 dia-betes mellitus and heart failure who were admitted to Jianyang Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine,Nanping,Fu-jian Province from May 2021 to June 2023 were selected as study objects,and they were equally divided into the con-trol group and the observation group by random number table method and received the conventional treatment of heart failure.The control group(n=49)was treated with metformin tablets and recombinant insulin glargine,and the observa-tion group(n=49)was treated with dapagliflozin based on the control group.Blood glucose index,islet function and cardiac function index were compared between the two groups.Results The blood glucose levels in the observation group were lower than those in the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05)The in-dexes of islet function in the observation group were better than those of control group,and the differences were statis-tically significant(all P<0.05).The indexes of cardiac function in the observation group were better than those of con-trol group,and the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).Conclusion On the basis of conventional hy-poglycemic drug therapy,the combination of dapagliflozin can better improve insulin function and cardiac function in-dexes in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus and heart failure,which is feasible.
