Objective To investigate the significance of short-term intensive insulin pump therapy in controlling blood glucose in refractory type 2 diabetes. Methods A total of 76 patients with refractory type 2 diabetes who came to Nantong Tongzhou District Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from January 2021 to December 2023 were col-lected as the study objects and divided into two groups according to different treatment regiments.Control group(38 cases)received insulin subcutaneous injection before three meals and before going to bed.Observation group(38 cases)received short-term intensive insulin pump therapy. The blood glucose, insulin function and adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. Results Before treatment, there were no statistical significances in blood glu-cose and islet function between the two groups(both P>0.05);after treatment, the improvement of blood glucose and is-let function in the observation group was better than that in the control group, and the differences were statistically sig-nificant(both P<0.05).The incidence of adverse reactions in the observation group was lower than in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion Short-term intensive insulin pump therapy can not only reduce the blood glucose level of refractory type 2 diabetes, but also improve the insulin function of pa-tients,the effect is significant and has clinical significance.
