Objective To study and analyze the clinical value of blood uric acid(UA)level test in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM).Methods A total of 80 T2DM patients treated in Funing County People's Hospital from January to December 2022 were selected as the study subjects.According to different blood UA levels, they were di-vided into high blood uric acid group(40 cases,500 μmol/L≤UA<600 μmol/L)and low blood uric acid group(40 cases,420 μmol/L≤UA<500 μmol/L).Another 40 healthy subjects(UA<420 μmol/L)were selected as control group. The UA,blood glucose index[random blood glucose(GLU),2-hour postprandial plasma glucose(2 hPG),glycated he-moglobin A1c(HbA1c),fasting plasma glucose(FPG)],blood lipid index level[triglyceride(TG),low density lipopro-tein cholesterol(LDL-C),high density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C),total cholesterol(TC)]and carotid artery intima-media thickness(IMT)of the three groups were compared. And the correlation between UA and blood glucose and blood lipid was analyzed. Results The levels of blood glucose, blood lipids and IMT in high blood uric acid group were higher than those in the other two groups, and the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).The cor-relation between UA level and FPG level was the highest, followed by IMT,HbA1c,2 hPG,GLU,LDL-C,TG,TC and HDL-C,and the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).Conclusion Patients with high blood uric acid T2DM had higher blood glucose and lipid levels and greater IMT.UA levels had a high correlation with blood glucose and lipids.
