Clinical Efficacy of Sitagliptin Combined with Metformin in the Treatment of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus with NAFLD and Its Effects on Glucose and Lipid Metabolism and Liver Function
Objective To analyze the effects of sitagliptin and metformin on type 2 diabetes mellitus complicated with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. Methods A total of 100 patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus combined with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease admitted to Nanping Second Hospital from April 2022 to June 2023 were selected as the study objects and divided into two groups with 50 cases in each group by closed envelope method. The control group took metformin tablets orally, and the study group combined with sitagliptin. Both groups were treated for 6 months. The clinical efficacy, glucose and lipid metabolism and liver function of the two groups were compared. Results The treatment effective rate of the study group was 98.00%,which was higher than 86.00%of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(χ2=4.891,P<0.05).Before treatment, there was no significant difference in glu-cose and lipid metabolism and liver function indexes between the two groups(both P>0.05).After 6 months of treat-ment,the glucose and lipid metabolism level of the study group was better than that of the control group, and the liver function index was lower than that of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(both P<0.05).Conclusion Sitagliptin combined with metformin in the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus complicated with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease can improve the treatment efficiency, improve the level of glucose and lipid metabolism and liver function.
