Objective To analyze the application effect of acarbose in carbohydrate metabolism control in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM)combined with myocardial infarction. Methods Clinical data of 84 T2DM pa-tients with myocardial infarction admitted to the Army 73rd Group Military Hospital from January 2022 to January 2023 were retrospectively selected, and divided into comparison group(n=42,metformin treatment)and observation group(n=42,metformin combined with acarbose treatment)according to different treatment methods. The control of glucose metabolism, clinical efficacy and incidence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. Results After 4 weeks of treatment, glucose metabolism levels in two groups were lower than before treatment, and fasting blood glucose(6.01±0.21)mmol/L,2-hour postprandial blood glucose(7.44±1.12)mmol/L and glycosylated he-moglobin(6.51±1.14)%in observation group were lower than those in comparison group, and the differences were sta-tistically significant(t=2.590,2.159,2.096,all P<0.05).The total effective rate of observation group(97.62%)was higher than that of comparison group(85.71%),and the difference was statistically significant(χ2=3.896,P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion The application of acarbose in the control of carbohydrate metabolism in patients with T2DM combined with myocardial infarction has better glucose metabolism control effect, significant clinical efficacy and high safety.
