Efficacy and Safety of Middle and Low Frequency Pulse Combined with Acupoint Application of Traditional Chinese Medicine in the Treatment of Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy
Objective To analyze the efficacy and safety of middle and low frequency pulse combined with acupoint application of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)in the treatment of diabetic peripheral neuropathy.Methods Ninety-six patients with diabetic peripheral neuropathy admitted to Wuwei Second People's Hospital from January 2021 to August 2023 were selected as the study objects,and the patients were divided into application group,electro-therapy group and combination group according to the lottery method,with thirty-two cases in each group.The appli-cation group was given Chinese acupuncture point application treatment,the electrotherapy group was given medium and low frequency pulse electrotherapy,and the combination group was given Chinese acupuncture point application combined with medium and low frequency pulse electrotherapy.The clinical efficacy,TCM syndrome score,neurologi-cal function and safety of the three groups were compared.Results The total effective rate of combination group was significantly higher than that of application group and electrotherapy group,and the difference was statistically signifi-cant(both P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the total effective rate between the application group and the electrotherapy group(P>0.05).After treatment,the TCM syndrome score in combination group was significantly lower than that in application group and electrotherapy group,and the difference was statistically significant(both P<0.05).There was no significant difference in TCM syndrome score between application group and electrotherapy group(both P>0.05).There was no significant difference in the total incidence of adverse reactions among the three groups(P>0.05).Conclusion In diabetic peripheral neuropathy patients,the application of traditional Chinese medicine acu-point application combined with middle and low frequency pulse electrotherapy is more effective,can further reduce the symptoms of patients,improve the neurological function of patients,and has good safety.
