Objective To explore the clinical efficacy and safety of semaglutide combined with insulin in the treat-ment of type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM).Methods Clinical data of eighty T2DM patients admitted to Fujian Provin-cial Hospital from January to December 2023 were retrospectively selected and divided into two groups with forty cases each according to different treatment plans. The control group was treated with aspartate insulin, and the obser-vation group was treated with semaglutide in combination. The clinical efficacy, glucose metabolism index, lipid me-tabolism index and adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. Results The total effective rate of the ob-servation group was higher than that of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Af-ter treatment, fasting and 2 h postprandial plasma glucose and HbA1c index levels in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).After treatment, all blood lipid indexes levels in the observation group were better than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the total incidence of adverse reac-tions between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion Semaglutide combined with insulin in the treatment of T2DM has definite efficacy, obvious improvement of glucose metabolism, lipid metabolism, and less adverse reactions, and is safe and reliable.
