Objective To explore the clinical efficacy of Jiangtangshu capsule combined with sitagliptin in elderly pa-tients with type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM).Methods A total of eighty T2DM patients admitted to Longyan People's Hospital from January 2022 to December 2023 were selected as the study objects and divided into two groups with forty cases each according to random number table method.The control group was treated with sitagliptin phosphate,and the observation group was treated with sitagliptin phosphate+Jiangtangshu capsule.The levels of glucose and lipid metabolism,islet function and inflammatory factors were compared between the two groups.Results The levels of glucose and lipid metabolism in the observation group were lower than those in the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).The islet function levels of the observation group were better than those of the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).The levels of inflammatory factors in the observation group were lower than those in the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).Conclusion In the treatment of elderly T2DM,sitagliptin phosphate combined with Jiangtangshu capsule can improve the level of glucose and lipid metabolism and improve insulin function.
