Effects of Glimepiride Combined with Shagliptin On Blood Glucose Level,Body Mass Index And Insulin Resistance in Obese Patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus
Objective To investigate the effects of glimepiride combined with saxagliptin on blood glucose levels, body mass index and insulin resistance in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus combined with obesity. Methods A to-tal of 136 patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus and obesity who received treatment in Dongying Central Hospital from January 2021 to November 2022 were selected as the study objects and divided into control group and observation group by random number table method, with 68 cases in each group. The control group was treated with glimepiride and the observation group was treated with glimepiride combined with saxagliptin.Blood glucose level, body mass in-dex,blood lipid level, islet function were compared between the two groups. Results After treatment, the levels of vari-ous blood glucose indexes in both groups were significantly decreased, and the decrease was more obvious in the ob-servation group, the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).Body mass index and various lipid levels in both groups were decreased, and the decrease in the observation group was more significant, the differences were sta-tistically significant(all P<0.05).Fasting insulin level and insulin resistance index were decreased in both groups, while islet β cell function index was increased, the improvement of various indexes in observation group was better than that in control group, the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).Conclusion Glimepiride com-bined with saxagliptin has a satisfactory clinical effect on patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus combined with obe-sity,emphasizing the importance of combining pharmacological treatment with lifestyle intervention.
