Objective To study the intervention effect of holistic nursing in patients with severe pancreatitis compli-cated with diabetes mellitus.Methods Fifty patients with severe pancreatitis combined with diabetes mellitus admit-ted to the internal medicine department of Linyi People's Hospital from June 2022 to June 2023 were selected as the study subjects,and they were divided into observation group(holistic nursing)and control group(routine nursing)ac-cording to random number table method,with twenty-five cases each.The nursing effect and value of the two groups were compared.Results After nursing,the blood glucose index level of observation group was lower than control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).After nursing,the high density lipoprotein cholesterol level in the observation group was higher than that in the control group,while the total cholesterol,low density lipopro-tein cholesterol and triglyceride levels were lower than those in the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).After nursing,the self-care ability score of observation group was higher than that of control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion The application of holistic nursing service to the care of patients with severe pancreatitis complicated with diabetes mellitus can improve the blood glucose and blood lipid indexes of patients and enhance their self-care ability,which has clinical application value.
