Objective To explore the effect of predictive nursing on reducing the occurrence of hypoglycemia in el-derly diabetic patients. Methods A total of eighty-six elderly diabetic patients admitted to Wuxi People's Hospital from January 2021 to October 2023 were selected as the study objects, and they were divided into control group and observation group by random number table method, with forty-three cases in each group. The control group received routine nursing, and the observation group received routine nursing combined with predictive nursing.Self-management ability score, quality of life score before and after intervention and the incidence of hypoglycemia were compared be-tween the two groups. Results After intervention, the scores of health knowledge level,self-concept,self-care respon-sibility,self-care skills and other self-management ability of the observation group were(45.51±3.21)points,(24.12±2.90)points,(20.70±1.90)points and(38.19±4.59)points,respectively,significantly higher than the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(t=4.981,6.312,5.500,3.736,all P<0.05).After intervention, the quality of life score in the observation group was higher than that in the control group, and the difference was statisti-cally significant(P<0.05).The incidence of hypoglycemia in observation group was lower than that in control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion Predictive nursing has obvious effect on improv-ing patients'self-management ability and quality of life, and effectively prevents hypoglycemia.
