Objective To explore the effect of protective motivation theory on intervention in type 2 diabetes patients.Methods A total of forty patients with type 2 diabetes treated in Guanyun County Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from January 2022 to December 2023 were selected as the study objects,and they were divided into study group and reference group with twenty patients in each group by blind touch dichromatic ball method.The reference group was given general nursing,and the study group was given protective motivation theoretical nursing on the basis of the reference group.The patient's medication compliance,blood glucose control level and quality of life of the two groups were compared.Results The medication compliance,blood glucose control level and quality of life of the study group were better than those of the reference group,and the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).Conclusion Nursing intervention based on protective motivation theory can improve medication compliance,blood glu-cose control and quality of life enhance of patients with type 2 diabetes.
