Objective To evaluate the efficacy of liraglutide therapy in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus.Methods The clinical data of 98 patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus admitted to Jinjiang City Hospital from Febru-ary 2022 to February 2023 were retrospectively selected and divided into two groups according to different treatment methods,with 49 cases in each group.The control group was treated with metformin,while the study group was treated with liraglutide.The total effective rate,body mass index,waist circumference,waist-to-hip ratio,fasting plasma glucose,2-hour postprandial plasma glucose and glycated hemoglobin A1c levels were compared between the two groups.Results The total effective rate of the study group was higher than that of the control group,and the dif-ference was statistically significant(P<0.05).After treatment,the body mass index,waist circumference and waist-to-hip ratio in the study group were lower than those in the control group,and the differences were statistically signifi-cant(all P<0.05).After treatment,the blood glucose levels of the study group were lower than those of the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).Conclusion Treatment with liraglutide in pa-tients with type 2 diabetes mellitus has a good therapeutic effect,which can reduce blood glucose and body weight.
