Objective To analyze the effect of traditional Chinese medicine nursing on type 2 diabetes peripheral neu-ropathy(DPN).Methods A total of 92 patients with DPN admitted to Laiwu Central Hospital of Shandong Yiyang Health Group from December 2022 to December 2023 were selected as the research objects.According to different nursing methods, they were divided into the control group and the observation group, with 46 cases in each group. The control group was given traditional nursing, and the observation group was given traditional Chinese medicine nursing. The blood glucose(fasting plasma glucose,2-hour postprandial plasma glucose),adverse emotions[Hamilton Anxiety Scale(HAMA)and Hamilton Depression Rating Scale(HAMD)]and self-care ability were compared between the two groups. Results Before nursing, there were no statistically significant differences in blood glucose levels between the two groups(both P>0.05);after nursing, the blood glucose index levels of the observation group were lower than those of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(both P<0.05).Before nursing, there were no sta-tistically significant differences in HAMA and HAMD scores between the two groups(both P>0.05).After the nursing, the observation group of HAMA and HAMD was lower than the control group, the differences were statistically signifi-cant(both P<0.05).The excellent and good rate of self-care in the observation group was 97.83%(45/46),which was higher than 82.61%(38/46)in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(χ2=6.035,P=0.014).Conclusion Traditional Chinese medicine nursing can enhance self-care ability, control patient blood sugar, and alle-viate emotional problems in DPN patients.
