Objective To explore the value of routine urine test and biochemical test in the diagnosis of DM.Methods A total of 80 suspected DM patients admitted to the Second Hospital of Fuqing from January 2023 to Janu-ary 2024 were selected. All suspected DM patients were underwent routine urine and biochemical tests and oral glu-cose tolerance test was used as the gold standard. The diagnostic results, diagnostic efficacy(sensitivity, specficity, accuracy, positive predictive value and negative predictive value)in both testing methods were compared. Results Among 80 suspected DM patients,47 cases were diagnosed with DM and 33 were non DM patients. The sensitivity of biochemical test was 82.98%(39/47),specificity was 78.79%(26/33),positive predictive value was 84.78%(39/46),negative predictive value was 76.47%(26/34),and accuracy was 81.25%(65/80),respectively,which were higher than 53.19%(25/47),48.48%(16/33),59.52%(25/42),42.11%(16/38),and 51.25%(41/80)of routine urine test,respec-tively,and the differens were statistically significant ruine tests(χ2=9.596,6.548,7.062,8.719,16.101,all P<0.05).Conclusion Biochemical test is more accurate than routine urine test and has higher diagnostic value for DM.
