Application Effect of Small Trap Thoracic Decoction Combined with Fangji Poria Decoction in the Treatment of Obese Patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus with Intermingled Phlegm-heat Syndrome
Objective To explore the effect of Small Trap Thoracic Decoction combined with Fangji Poria Decoction on obese patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM)with intermingled phlegm-heat syndrome.Methods From Feb-ruary 2022 to February 2024,a total of 112 obese T2DM patients with intermingled phlegm-heat syndrome who were treated in the Jilin Provincial Rehabilitation Center for Persons with Disabilities were selected as the research objects.They were divided into control group(n=56,treated with metformin)and study group(n=56,treated with metformin combined with Small Trap Thoracic Decoction combined with Fangji Poria Decoction)by different treatment methods.The improvement of obesity indexes(body weight,body mass index,waist circumference),glucose metabolism indexes(fasting plasma glucose,2-hour postprandial plasma glucose,glycated hemoglobin A1c)and traditional Chinese medi-cine(TCM)symptoms(including abdominal distension,physical obesity,chest tightness and abdominal distension,dry mouth and thirst,more water intake,upset and bitter taste,yellow urine color,dry stool)score were compared between the two groups.Results After 90 days of treatment,the body weight,body mass index and waist circumference of the study group were lower than those of the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).After 90 days of treatment,the glucose metabolism indexes and TCM symptom score of the study group were lower than those of the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).Conclusion The applica-tion of Small Trap Thoracic Decoction combined with Fangji Poria Decoction in the treatment of obese T2DM patients with intermingled phlegm-heat syndrome can reduce their weight,significantly control glucose metabolism,and im-prove TCM syndrome scores.
