Objective To explore the effect of combined treatment of compound camptothecin and lipoic acid in pa-tients with diabetic ischemic optic neuropathy. Methods A total of 140 patients with diabetic ischemic optic neuropa-thy who were treated in Fuzhou Southeast Ophthalmology Hospital Jinshan New Hospital from January 2019 to Janu-ary 2023 were selected as the study subjects.According to different treatment methods, they were divided into control group and observation group, with 70 cases in each group. The control group was treated with lipoic acid combined with epalrestat, and the observation group was treated with compound camptothecin combined with lipoic acid. The ad-verse reactions, clinical efficacy, visual acuity and visual field defect scores of the two groups were compared. Results The total effective rate of treatment in the observation group was higher than that in the control group, and the differ-ence was statistically significant(P<0.05).After treatment, the visual acuity of the observation group was higher than that of the control group, and the visual field defect score was lower than that of the control group, the differences were statistically significant(both P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions be-tween the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion The combination of compound camptothecin and lipoic acid in the treat-ment of patients with diabetic ischemic optic neuropathy has improved efficacy and visual acuity and visual field de-fects.
