Diabetic ketoacidosis(DKA)is a life-threatening acute complication of diabetes mellitus in children,which occurs mainly in type 1 diabetes.In recent years,the incidence of the disease has increased year by year,espe-cially in children.At present,the disease has become the main cause of death in children with type 1 diabetes.There are many risk factors for the development of DKA,and the degree of attention paid to the prevention of this disease in China is not high enough.This paper summarizes the risk factors for DKA in children.They are divided according to uncontrollable and controllable,including age,gender,socioeconomic disadvantage,mental disorders,antecedent in-fections,previous episodes,glycated hemoglobin A1c,C-peptide,blood glucose,poor adherence to insulin,delayed di-agnosis,and insulin pump use.By summarizing the research progress on the risk factors of this disease,we aim to pro-vide a reference for the prevention and diagnosis of DKA in children,as a way to strengthen the education and self-management of this disease,reduce the prevalence,recurrence,and mortality rates,and improve the quality of life of the children.
