Effect Analysis of Intensive Blood Glucose Therapy Combined with Peri-odontal Basic Therapy in Patients with Chronic Periodontitis Combined with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus
Objective To investigate the effect of intensive blood glucose therapy combined with periodontal basic therapy on patients with chronic periodontitis complicated with type 2 diabetes mellitus.Methods A total of 80 pa-tients with chronic periodontitis combined with type 2 diabetes mellitus who were admitted to Wuxi Second Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from January 2023 to March 2024 were selected as the research objects.According to different treatment methods,they were divided into two groups,with 40 cases in each group.Control group treated with periodontal basic therapy,observation group treated by intensive blood glucose therapy combined periodontal ba-sic therapy.The levels of blood glucose indexes(fasting plasma glucose,2-hour postprandial plasma glucose,glycosyl-ated hemoglobin A1c),tooth-related indexes(attachment loss,bleeding and plaque index),inflammatory factors[inter-leukin-1β(IL-1β),tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α)]were compared between the two groups.Results After treat-ment,the fasting plasma glucose,2-hour postprandial plasma glucose,glycated hemoglobin A1c levels of the observa-tion group were lower than those of the control group,the differences were statistically significant(all P＜0.05).After treatment,the attachment loss,bleeding and plaque indexes in the observation group were lower than those in the con-trol group,and the differences were statistically significant(all P＜0.05).After treatment,the levels of IL-1β and TNF-α in the observation group were lower than those in the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(both P＜0.05).Conclusion Intensive blood glucose therapy combined with periodontal basic therapy has ideal thera-peutic effect on patients with chronic periodontitis and type 2 diabetes mellitus,which can reduce blood glucose level and improve periodontitis.
