Objective To analyze the effect of individualized nursing in elderly patients with diabetes mellitus. Methods The clinical data of 130 elderly patients with diabetes mellitus admitted to the Affiliated Hospital of Heze Medical College from July 2022 to July 2023 were retrospectively selected.According to different nursing methods, they were divided into observation group(65 cases, individualized nursing)and control group(65 cases, traditional nursing).Nursing satisfaction, blood glucose indexes(fasting plasma glucose,2-hour postprandial plasma glucose,gly-cated hemoglobin A1c)and self-empowerment ability of the two groups were compared. Results Before nursing, there were no significant differences in blood glucose levels and self-empowerment ability between the two groups(all P>0.05).After nursing, the levels of fasting plasma glucose,2-hour postprandial plasma glucose and glycated hemoglo-bin A1c in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, and the self-empowerment ability was higher than that in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).The nursing satis-faction of the observation group was higher than that of the control group, and the difference was statistically signifi-cant(P<0.05).Conclusion Individualized nursing has a significant application effect in the management of elderly diabetic patients.Through personalized nursing programs,it can better meet the needs of elderly diabetic patients and provide more effective treatment effects.
