Objective To explore the curative effect of Sanhuang Decoction combined with acupuncture therapy in the treatment of diabetic patients with obesity.Methods The clinical data of 80 patients with diabetes mellitus and obe-sity admitted to Zhangdian District Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from January to December 2023 were ret-rospectively selected and divided into two groups according to different treatment methods,with 40 cases in each group.The control group was treated with acupuncture,and the observation group was treated with Sanhuang Decoc-tion combined with acupuncture.The body weight,body mass index,waist circumference index,blood glucose and blood lipid indexes(fasting plasma glucose,2-hour postprandial plasma glucose,triglyceride,total cholesterol,high-density lipoprotein cholesterol),oxidative stress indexes(superoxide dismutase,malondialdehyde,glutathione peroxi-dase)were compared between the two groups.Results After 2 months of treatment,the levels of obesity indexes in the two groups decreased,and the levels of body weight,body mass index and waist circumference in the observation group were lower than those in the control group,the differences were statistically significant(all P＜0.05).After 2 months of treatment,the level of high-density lipoprotein cholesterol in the observation group was higher than that in the control group,and the levels of other blood glucose and blood lipid indexes were lower than those in the control group,the differences were statistically significant(all P＜0.05).After 2 months of treatment,the superoxide dismutase and glutathione peroxidase in the observation group were higher than those in the control group,and the malondialde-hyde was lower than that in the control group,the differences were statistically significant(all P＜0.05).Conclusion Sanhuang Decoction combined with acupuncture can obviously reduce the level of blood glucose and lipid,reduce the body weight and the tissue damage caused by oxidative stress.
