Objective Toexplore the effect of dapagliflozin combined with metformin in the treatment of type 2 diabe-tes mellitus(T2DM).Methods A total of 108 patients with T2DM admitted to the Jinxiang County People's Hospital from January 2021 to December 2023 were selected as the research objects. They were divided into study group and control group according to different treatment methods,54 cases in each group. The study group was treated with daga-glizin combined with metformin, while the control group was treated with metformin alone.Blood glucose indexes(fast-ing blood glucose,2-hour postprandial blood glucose, glycated hemoglobin)and islet function indexes(insulin sensi-tivity index, homeostatic model assessment of insulin resistance, homeostatic model assessment islet β cell secretory function index),quality of life score, incidence of adverse reactions, treatment effectiveness were compared between the two groups. Results After treatment the blood glucose index of the study group was lower than that of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The islet function index of the study group was better than that of the control group, and the quality of life score was higher than that of the control group, and the differ-ences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).There was no statistically significant difference in the incidence of ad-verse reactions between the two groups(P>0.05).The effective rate of treatment in the study group was higher than that in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion For patients with T2DM,the combination of dapagliflozin and metformin is more effective than metformin alone.
