Objective To analyze the efficacy of Jiangtangning Capsules combined with metformin in treatment of ges-tational diabetes mellitus.Methods The clinical data of 122 patients with gestational diabetes mellitus admitted to Ammy 73rd Group Hospital of the Chinese People's Liberation Army from February 2023 to March 2024 were retro-spectively selected.According to different treatment methods,they were divided into two groups,with 61 cases in each group.The control group was treated with metformin,and the study group was treated with metformin combined with Jiangtangning Capsule.The treatment time was 1 month.The levels of glucose and lipid metabolism(glycated hemoglo-bin A1c,fasting plasma glucose,total cholesterol,triglyceride),adverse pregnancy outcomes(premature infants,fetal distress,macrosomia,neonatal asphyxia),adverse reactions(dizziness and nausea,fatigue,hypoglycemia,abdominal distension and diarrhea)and clinical efficacy were compared between the two groups.Results Before the treatment,the leves of glucolipid metabolism of two groups were compared,and the differences were not statistically significant(all P＞0.05).After treatment,the leves of glucolipid metabolism of two groups were improved,and the study group was better than that of control group,the differences were statistically significant(all P＜0.05).The incidence of adverse pregnancy outcome of study group was 1.64%(1/61);which was lower than control group of 13.11%(8/61),the differ-ence was statistically significant(χ2=4.319,P＜0.05).There was no statistically significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups(P＞0.05).The total effective rate of the study group was higher than that of the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P＜0.05).Conclusion Jiangtangning Capsule com-bined with metformin in the treatment of gestational diabetes mellitus can significantly improve the level of glucose and lipid metabolism,reduce the risk of adverse pregnancy outcomes and adverse reactions,and improve the clinical efficacy.
