Objective To explore the effect of blood glucose control combined with comprehensive rehabilitation therapy in the treatment of patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM)complicated with stroke. Methods The clini-cal data of 76 T2DM patients with stroke who were treated in the Second Affiliated Hospital of Fujian Medical Univer-sity from June 2022 to March 2024 were retrospectively selected.According to different treatment methods, they were divided into the control group(metformin sustained release tablets combined with comprehensive rehabilitation treat-ment)and the study group(human insulin injection was added based on the treatment plan of the control group),with 38 cases in each group. The levels of glucose metabolism(2-hour postprandial blood glucose, fasting blood glucose),clinical efficacy, and the risk of adverse reactions(coma,hypoglycemia,nausea/vomiting,rash)were compared be-tween the two groups. Results After 4 weeks of treatment, the glucose metabolism level of the study group were lower than those of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(both P<0.05).The clinical efficacy of the study group was higher than that of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).There was no statistically significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion On the basis of metformin and comprehensive rehabilitation therapy, human insulin injection is added to treat patients with T2DM complicated with stroke, which can effectively control glucose metabolism, has significant cu-rative effect and does not increase the risk of adverse reactions, and has high safety.
