Objective To explore the effect of combined application of repaglinide and metformin in the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus. Methods The clinical data of 70 patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus admitted to Pingnan County General Hospital from March 2022 to February 2024 were retrospectively selected and divided into control group and study group according to different treatment methods, with 35 cases in each group. The control group was treated with metformin, and the study group was treated with metformin combined with repaglinide. The total effective rate of treatment, blood glucose index(fasting blood glucose,2-hour postprandial blood glucose, glycated hemoglobin A1c),blood lipid index(total cholesterol, triglyceride),quality of life(physiological,psychological,environmental,so-cial)scores were compared between the two groups. Results The total effective rate treatment in the study group was higher than that of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).After treatment, the lev-els of blood glucose and blood lipid indexes in the study group were lower than those in the control group, and the dif-ferences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).The quality of life scores of the study group were higher than those of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).Conclusion When treating type 2 diabetes mellitus patients with hypoglycemic therapy, metformin combined with repaglinide has a significant effect, regulate blood glucose and blood lipid, and improve the quality of life of patients.
