Objective To analyse the effect of continuous subcutaneous infusion of insulin pumps on blood glucose in the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus. Methods The clinical data of 150 patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus ad-mitted to Qingshan District 202 Hospital of Baotou from January 2021 to December 2023 were retrospectively se-lected.According to the difference of treatment methods, they were divided into observation group(75 cases,continu-ous subcutaneous insulin infusion by insulin pump)and control group(75 cases, multiple subcutaneous insulin injec-tion).The blood glucose levels(fasting blood glucose and 2-hour postprandial blood glucose),insulin dosage, fasting blood glucose compliance time,2-hour postprandial blood glucose compliance time, and the incidence of hypoglyce-mia were compared between the two groups. Results After treatment, the fasting blood glucose and 2-hour postpran-dial blood glucose in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, and the differences were statis-tically significant(both P<0.05).The dosage of insulin in the observation group was less than that in the control group, and the time of fasting blood glucose compliance time and 2-hour postprandial blood glucose compliance time were shorter than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).The incidence of hypoglycemia in the observation group was lower than that in the control group, and the difference was statistically sig-nificant(P<0.05).Conclusion Continuous subcutaneous infusion treatment with insulin pumps can effectively control blood glucose levels, reduce insulin dosage, shorten the time to reach the blood glucose target, and also reduce the oc-currence of hypoglycaemia, with a high degree of safety.
