Objective To analyze the effect of semaglutide on blood glucose level in patients with type 2 diabetes mel-litus complicated with renal insufficiency. Methods The clinical data of 100 patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus complicated with renal insufficiency admitted to the 73rd Group Army Hospital of the People's Liberation Army of China from January 2023 to March 2024 were retrospectively selected.According to different treatment methods, they were divided into two groups,50 cases each. The control group was subcutaneously injected with insulin before three meals, and the study group was subcutaneously injected with semaglutide on the basis of the control group. Before and after treatment, the blood glucose levels(glycated hemoglobin A1c,fasting blood glucose,2-hour postprandial blood glucose),renal function(blood urea nitrogen, albumin, serum creatinine, urinary microalbumin),inflammatory factors(interleukin-6,hypersensitive C-reactive protein, malondialdehyde)and adverse reactions(nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, accelerated heart rate)were compared between the two groups. Results After treatment, the blood glucose levels of the study group were lower than those of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).After treatment, the renal function levels of the study group were better than those of the control group, and the differ-ences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).After treatment, the levels of inflammatory factors in the study group were lower than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the total incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion Sema-glutide can improve blood glucose levels, improve renal function, reduce inflammatory factor levels in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus and renal insufficiency, and will not increase the risk of adverse reactions.
