Objective To explore the intervention value of family nursing guided by self-efficacy theory in the nursing of elderly patients with diabetes. Methods A total of 79 elderly patients with diabetes mellitus admitted to Beijing Aerospace General Hospital from March 2022 to March 2023 were selected as the research objects.According to dif-ferent nursing methods, they were divided into control group(n=39,routine nursing intervention)and observation group(n=40,family nursing intervention guided by self-efficacy theory). The scores of self-care ability(self-responsibility,self-care skills, health knowledge level,self-concept),blood glucose index(fasting blood glucose,2-hour postprandial blood glucose, glycated hemoglobin A1c)and quality of life(physiological function,psychology/spirit,social relationship, treatment dimension)were compared between the two groups. Results After 90 days of inter-vention,the scores and total scores of self-care ability in the observation group were higher than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).After 90 days of intervention, the fasting blood glucose,2-hour postprandial blood glucose, glycated hemoglobin A1c and quality of life scores in the observation group were higher than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).Conclusion For nursing elderly patients with diabetes,self-efficacy theory-oriented family nursing intervention can improve patients'self-care ability, blood glucose level and quality of life.
