Objective To investigate the effect of different periods of insulin therapy on pregnancy outcome in patients with pregnancy complicated with diabetes mellitus. Methods The clinical data of 200 pregnant women with diabetes mellitus admitted to the 80th Group Army Hospital of the Chinese People's Liberation Army from March 2021 to July 2023 were retrospectively selected and divided into two groups according to different periods of insulin therapy, with 100 cases in each group. The reference group was treated with insulin at 32 weeks of pregnancy, and the study group was treated with insulin before 32 weeks of pregnancy. The total incidence of adverse pregnancy outcomes and blood glucose levels before and after treatment were compared between the two groups. Results The total incidence of ad-verse pregnancy outcomes in the study group was 4.00%(4/100),which was lower than 12.00%(12/100)in the refer-ence group, and the difference was statistically significant(x2=4.347,P<0.05).Before treatment, there were no sig-nificant difference in blood glucose levels between the two groups(both P>0.05).After treatment, the fasting blood glucose and 2-hour postprandial blood glucose levels of the two groups decreased, and those of the study group were lower than the reference group, the differences were statistically significant(both P<0.05).Conclusion During the clinical treatment of insulin in patients with pregnancy complicated with diabetes mellitus, the choice of drug therapy before 32 weeks can improve the pregnancy outcome and reduce the blood glucose levels.
