Objective To explore the clinical effect of Xiaoke Ointment combined with insulin in the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM)with Qi and Yin deficiency syndrome. Methods A total of 60 T2DM patients with Qi and Yin deficiency syndrome admitted to Meitan County Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine Hospital from July 2022 to May 2024 were selected as the research objects.According to different treatment methods, they were divided into the control group and the study group, with 30 cases in each group. The control group was treated with insulin, and the study group was treated with Xiaoke Ointment combined with insulin. The clinical efficacy,tradi-tional Chinese medicine syndrome scores, blood glucose levels, islet function were compared between the two groups. Results The total effective rate of the study group was 96.67%(29/30),which was higher than 73.33%(22/30)of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(x2=4.706,P<0.05).After treatment, the traditional Chi-nese medicine syndrome scores of the two groups were decreased, and the study group was lower than the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).After treatment, the levels of fasting plasma glu-cose,2-hour postprandial plasma glucose, fasting insulin and insulin resistance index in the two groups were de-creased,and those in the study group were lower than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).Conclusion Xiaoke Ointment combined with insulin in the treatment of T2DM with Qi and Yin deficiency syndrome can improve clinical efficacy of patients, relieve clinical symptoms, reduce their blood glu-cose levels and improve their islet function.
