Objective To explore the application effect of modified Xiaochaihu Decoction in the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM).Methods A total of 120 patients with T2DM admitted to the Medical Department of Tradi-tional Chinese Medicine of Sanming Youxi County General Hospital Zhongxian Branch from January 2022 to Decem-ber 2023 were selected as the research objects.According to different treatment methods,they were divided into the reference group and the study group,with 60 cases in each group.The reference group was treated with Western medi-cine,and the study group was treated with modified Xiaochaihu Decoction on the basis of the reference group.The blood glucose indexes,insulin function indexes,traditional Chinese medicine syndrome scores,and clinical efficacy were compared between the two groups.Results After treatment,fasting blood glucose,2-hour postprandial blood glu-cose,glycated hemoglobin A1c,mean amplitude of glucose excursion,fasting insulin and homeostatic model assess-ment of insulin resistance in the study group were lower than those in the reference group,and the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).After treatment,the traditional Chinese medicine syndrome score of the study group was lower than that of the reference group,and the total effective rate of treatment was higher than that of the reference group,and the differences were statistically significant(both P<0.05).Conclusion Modified Xiaochaihu De-coction combined with conventional Western medicine therapy in the treatment of T2DM can relieve symptoms,stabi-lize blood glucose levels,improve health status,and enhance treatment efficacy.
