Objective To explore the clinical value of health education in the care of gestational diabetes mellitus pa-tients and the influence of quality of life.Methods A total of 60 patients with gestational diabetes mellitus treated in Shenxian Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital from January to December 2023 were selected as the study objects and divided into control group(routine nursing)and observation group(strengthening health education on the basis of routine nursing)according to different nursing methods,with 30 cases each.Blood glucose indexes,self-care ability,self-management efficacy,and quality of life were compared between the two groups.Results After intervention,the levels of fasting blood glucose,2-hour postprandial blood glucose and glycated hemoglobin A1c in the two groups were lower than those before intervention,and those in the observation group were lower than those in the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).After intervention,the scores of self-care ability,self-management efficacy and quality of life in both groups were higher than before intervention,and the observation group were higher than the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).Conclusion The application of health education in the nursing of gestational diabetes mellitus can obtain good nursing intervention effect,reduce blood sugar level,improve patients'self-management efficiency and self-care ability,and promote the optimization of quality of life.
