Effect of Modulated Medium Frequency Electrotherapy with Traditional Chinese Medicine Iontophoresis on Diabetes Peripheral Neuropathy and Its Influence on IGF-1
Objective To evaluate the effect of modulated medium frequency electric Chinese medicine iontophoresis on diabetic peripheral neuropathy and the change of insulin-like growth factor-1(IGF-1).Methods A total of 150 pa-tients with diabetic peripheral neuropathy(DPN)admitted to Shiyan Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital from Janu-ary to December 2021 were selected as the research objects.According to different treatment methods,they were di-vided into control group(conventional treatment)and observation group(conventional modulated medium frequency electric Chinese medicine iontophoresis treatment),with 75 cases in each group.Toronto Clinical Scoring System(TCSS),motor conduction velocity(MCV)and sensory conduction velocity(SCV)of median nerve and common pero-neal nerve IGF-1,fasting plasma glucose and 2-hour postprandial plasma glucose levels and total effective rate of treatment were compared between the two groups.Results After treatment,the TCSS score,fasting plasma glucose and 2-hour postprandial plasma glucose levels in the observation group were lower than those in the control group,the MCV of common peroneal nerve,MCV of median nerve,SCV of common peroneal nerve,SCV of median nerve and IGF-1 levels in the observation group were higher than those in the control group,and the differences were statisti-cally significant(all P<0.05).The total effective rate of clinical treatment in the observation group was 97.33%(73/75),which was higher than 85.33%(64/75)in the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(x2=6.822,P<0.05).Conclusion Modulated medium frequency electric iontophoresis of traditional Chinese medicine has a positive effect on the treatment of diabetic peripheral neuropathy.It can significantly alleviate the clinical symptoms of patients,regulate blood glucose levels,improve nerve conduction velocity,and up-regulate IGF-1 levels.
