Objective To explore the effect of acarbose in the treatment of hemodialysis patients with diabetic ne-phropathy.Methods The clinical data of 118 hemodialysis patients with diabetic nephropathy admitted to Army 73rd Group Military Hospital from April 2021 to April 2024 were retrospectively selected and divided into control group and observation group according to different treatment methods, with 59 cases in each group. The control group was treated with insulin, and the observation group was treated with insulin combined with acarbose. The blood glucose levels, renal function and islet function were compared between the two groups. Results Before treatment, there were no significant differences in blood glucose, renal function indexes and islet function indexes between the two groups(all P>0.05).After treatment, the levels of fasting blood glucose,2-hour postprandial blood glucose, glycated hemoglo-bin A1c,blood urea nitrogen, serum creatinine, urinary creatinine, fasting insulin and insulin resistance index in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, and the islet β cell function index was higher than that in the control group, the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).Conclusion The application of insulin combined with acarbose in hemodialysis patients with diabetic nephropathy can effectively improve the blood glucose level, renal function and islet function.
