Objective To explore the value of immediate detection of glycated hemoglobin A1c(HbA1c)in the clini-cal diagnosis of gestational diabetes mellitus. Methods A total of 240 patients with suspected gestational diabetes mel-litus admitted to People's Hospital Affiliated of Quanzhou Medical College from July 2021 to July 2023 were selected as the study subjects.Immediate detection of HbA1c and fasting plasma glucose(FPG)were tested.Using the oral glu-cose tolerance test as the gold standard, the sensitivity, specificity, accuracy, positive predictive value and negative predictive value of the different methods were analyzed. Results The specificity, accuracy and positive predictive value of HbAlc detection were higher than those of FPG detection, and the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).The negative predictive value and sensitivity of the two detection methods were not statistically signifi-cant(both P>0.05).Conclusion Immediate of HbA1c detection can improve the accuracy of gestational diabetes melli-tus detection results, which is conducive to timely detection of abnormal blood glucose in pregnant women.
