Effect of Short-term Intensive Treatment of Englaglitzin with Insulin on Blood Glucose Fluctuation and Safety in Elderly Patients with Type 2 Dia-betes Mellitus
Objective To investigate the effects of short-term intensive treatment with englaglizin and insulin on blood glucose fluctuation and safety in elderly patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM).Methods A total of 98 T2DM patients admitted to the First Hospital of Sanming City from January to December 2023 were selected as the re-search objects and and they were divided into 49 cases in each group according to different treatment methods. The control group received short-term intensive insulin treatment, and the observation group was treated with englaglizin on the basis of control group.Islet function(islet beta cell function, insulin resistance index),blood glucose index, blood glucose fluctuation and safety were compared between the two groups. Results After treatment, homeostsis model assessment of insulin resistance, glycated hemoglobin A1c,fasting plasma glucose,2-hour postprandial plasma glucose, postprandial plasma glucose fluctuation amplitude amplitude and largest omplitude of ghycemic excursion in two groups were lower than before treatment, and observation group was lower than control group, the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).After treatment, the homeostasis model assessment of β cell function index in the two groups was higher than before treatment, and the observation group was higher than the control group, the differ-ence was statistically significant(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the occurrence of adverse reactions between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion Short-term intensive treatment with empagliflozin and insulin in elderly patients with T2DM can improve islet function, regulate blood glucose level, reduce blood glucose fluctuation, and has good safety.
